There are
several universal wonderments in life. One of them is how it all
began. How we account for the boundary between the time before and
the time of our visible universe. Science postulates a Big Bang.
Native American spiritual teachings have their own stories of
emergence. Genesis 1, Bereshit – in the beginning – poetically
maps out how the Divine created order from chaos. In this five part
black and white print series, Elizabeth Jaffe Roll, inspired by the
sacred text, creatively explores her conception of the movement
from nothingness to life. There is an emphasis on separation and
differentiation which is balanced by integration and synthesis. |
